ABOUT US

The farm is now in its 5th generation, and currently has 3 generations involved, all brought together by a passion for agriculture and the great outdoors! A 6th generation is increasing and hopefully in the future will take up the reins!

In the early-mid 20th century, the business was more focussed on Livestock farming and butchery, with Large Black pigs and Charolais cattle being the most recent livestock enterprises on the farm. If you live around the local area, you may remember our white Charolais cattle on the side of the A1198, just south of Royston. Our award winning Charolais cattle even had the Royal honour of greeting Queen Elizabeth and Princess Anne!

However, due to diminishing agricultural returns in the early 2000s, the business evolved to focus on arable farming and diversified many of its farm buildings into commercial lets, as well as a horse livery yard, to ensure the business wasn’t as reliant on volatile agricultural markets.

Although the business has diversified, the farming business remains at its core, and today we currently farm around 1,700 acres of Wheat, Rye, Barley, Oats, Oilseed rape, Linseed and Sugar Beet.  To find out more about our farming practices please click here.
